Haven-Stad Amsterdam is currently the largest inner-city area development project in the Netherlands. Construction is taking place on both sides of the IJ River and will continue over the coming years.
The project envisions the creation of 40,000 to 70,000 affordable homes and 45,000 to 58,000 jobs. Schools, parks, and sports facilities will all be within easy reach, contributing to a livable and accessible urban environment. Haven-Stad Amsterdam is also designed with sustainability at its core. Its urban structure is defined in an integrated Framework Plan, which serves as a guiding document to evaluate future developments and ensure long-term cohesion over the next 35 years.
For this major project, The Imagineers developed a digital platform to facilitate public participation. This included an integrated survey module and an interactive map that allowed users to ask questions directly tied to specific locations. Changes and plans are visualized using 17 carefully selected photo locations, giving the public a clear and relatable view of what’s to come.
