Animation Windpark Beuningen

Eneco, Falck Renewable, and Energie commissioned The Imagineers to create an explainer video about Beuningen Wind Farm. Beuningen is situated in The Netherlands. This video visually demonstrates what this wind farm will look like, how it will be integrated into the landscape, and what role it can play in generating sustainable energy.

Vision en doelstelling

This explainer video serves as a bridge between technical plans and public understanding. On the one hand, the municipality of Beuningen aims to be energy-neutral by 2040. On the other hand, it's important to clearly show residents, stakeholders, and local residents what the wind farm will look like, its impact, and how it relates to the surrounding environment.

What will you see in this video?

The explainer video shows:

  • the location of the turbines relative to neighborhoods, roads, and natural features
  • the scale and dimensions of the wind turbines
  • the "sightlines" at a distance (how far you can see the turbines from different vantage points)
  • the movement of the rotor blades

This explainer video makes the technical plans tangible and understandable. A powerful way to engage in dialogue with stakeholders.

Involvement and transparency

One of the key strengths of this explanatory video is its increased transparency. Instead of just plans on paper, stakeholders receive an honest, realistic, and understandable overview.

This contributes to:

  • Confidence in the project
  • Shared insights into the spatial impact

Impact for Beuningen and the surrounding area

The Beuningen wind farm is not a standalone project; it is related to:

  • Local energy supply: how many households can run on the generated electricity?
  • Resident participation: Is there a role for residents in cooperative ownership or local energy initiatives?

EnergyPlanner as the basis for the explanatory video

EnergyPlanner software was the central tool for creating this explanatory video. This application combines 2D and 3D images with 360° photos to create realistic views. These are enhanced with visual explanations, voiceovers, and subtitles, allowing viewers to experience the project from multiple perspectives.

Using EnergyPlanner as a foundation offers a significant advantage: the images are extremely accurate, up-to-date, and consistent. Thanks to maximum reuse of existing data, changes can be made quickly, costs remain manageable, and a convincing final result is achieved in a short time.
