Accelerating Area Development in the Energy Transition

In the energy transition, it is important that citizens are involved in shaping the landscape for energy generation with solar and wind. Public participation is essential in the energy transition and is also becoming a requirement under the Environmental Planning Act (Omgevingswet). This is increasingly becoming a strict condition in procurements, tenders, and projects.

That is why we combine our knowledge and experience in visualizing future area developments with the possibility of participation. Here are three important steps we briefly explain.

Step 1. Collect all ideas at relevant locations directly in the right spot within the area together with the residents, using our “place a pin” feature.

A great example is: https://lnkd.in/eWcYZUn4

Step 2. Based on the collected ideas, create several initial sketches of the area and define the search zones. Our Windplanner is a very useful tool for this; not only for wind turbines but also for other objects you can place within it.

Step 3. Visualize the selected areas and present them to the stakeholders. Our visualizations are realistic and based on geo-data sources. We can do this in various ways: spherical photos, 2D, 3D, and so on. Not a desired or manipulated image, but the real reality — with the only difference being that it does not yet exist in reality. We also place these images in an Online Visitor Center, where you can add additional information about the project.

This shortens the project lead time. Everyone wants clarity quickly, and with the best visualizations, that is possible.
