In Belfeld, a section of the Meuse dike is being reinforced to meet the latest safety standards. It is a relatively small stretch, but one that runs directly alongside residents’ properties. This makes community engagement a crucial part of the project.
Our approach
We use the Area Participation Platform in combination with an Online Visitor Center. This gives residents easy access to project information and the opportunity to share their questions and concerns directly.
With the help of 360-degree 3D visualizations, residents can experience what the new dike alignment and solutions such as glass flood barriers will look like – not through abstract drawings, but as if they were standing in their own backyard.
